Welcome to a new year and a new vibration. The astrology of 2025 holds an entirely different resonance than the invitations, archetypes, and directions of recent years. We are about to experience and co-create a new reality.
When looking at astrological movements, one of the markers of great shifts are the outer planets. Each of these—Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto—can spend up to 20 years in a single sign. When any of these planets shift, the very fabric of our reality shifts along with it. Our outer and inner planets are all beginning new cycles this year. Pluto recently entered a sign where it will remain until 2043 and, in the months to come, Neptune and Uranus will also continue their exploration of the zodiac. When understanding the astrology of 2025, it’s as if these planets are weaving a new story, showing us something new, and inspiring something unprecedented from within each of us.
What the Astrology of 2025 Means for You
Don’t be afraid to take a leap this year. Trust the compass within you and continue to make space within your perspectives and pattern. That ensures when what is meant for you becomes known, you will be ready to receive it. Following are those astrological transits and events that are most likely to bring some change to you.
Lunar Nodes
A space of profound healing, surrender, and intuition takes place when the lunar nodes enter new signs. The lunar nodes comprise the north and south node and are indicators of the direction of our evolution, both collectively and individually. As they enter a new sign, the themes, archetypes, and energies in which we are guided to develop and embody shift, too.
From January 11, 2025, to August 18, 2026, the north node will travel through Pisces while the south node will transit Virgo. The north node in Pisces invites us to immerse ourselves in spirituality, healing, dreaming, imagination, and the sacred. It encourages surrender, empathy, and acceptance. We will be reminded that compassion and love heal, forgiveness is medicine, and honoring another is honoring oneself. We are guided to develop and trust in our intuition and to enhance our relationship with the sacred, whatever we may name this unseen yet felt aspect of life and of ourselves.
As we lean into the Pisces archetype, the south node in Virgo will invite a healing release of self-judgement, perfectionism, shame, and control. It is a conscious unwinding of self-imposed pressure and crippling expectations as well as an offering of love to the parts of us that have never quite felt enough.
Venus Retrograde
Our only Venus retrograde of the year begins on March 1, 2025. Venus is worthiness, self-value, embodiment and magnetism. She is beauty, harmony, art, and balance. She is partnership, love, romance and desire. As the planet moves into retrograde motion, we reflect on these themes within ourselves and our lives. We are invited to bring greater awareness to them, release old patterns and emotions, and remember our inherent worthiness so that we may living from a different place.
As Venus retrogrades through Aries, we are asked to reconnect with our desires, inspiration, selfhood, and relationship with action. The love of Venus in Aries is awareness and embodiment of our own worth, a more intuitive relationship with knowing and going after our desires, and trust in our intuition, passion, and instincts.
Spinning backward into Pisces, Venus retrograde is a time to heal ourselves through creativity, art, forgiveness, and compassion. This is a time of surrendering, releasing old hurts, feeling the ever-present and unconditional love of the sacred, and letting it imbue all of us.
Neptune in Aries
For the first time in 14 years, the outer planet Neptune will explore a different sign in 2025. As it travels through the zodiac, Neptune marks generational shifts and new eras. Being so far from the Sun, however, means it moves incredibly slowly. The planet has been traveling through Pisces since 2011.
As Neptune enters Aries on March 30, 2025, it takes a dramatic step forward. Neptune is our dreamy planet of intuition and sacred imagination. When in Aries, it brings imagination into action. It weaves together dreams with actualization. It heightens intuition, creativity, desire, and our connection with the sacredness of our personal passions.
This is a time to explore how desire, inspiration, and intuition feel in your body. It is a supportive chapter to explore taking action as we play with expressing our desires and bringing them into form. But the change takes place for only five months before retrograde takes Neptune back into Pisces.
During the short time Neptune is in Aries this year, we will be dipping our toes into a new energy. Arriving yet not staying for long. We will be looking around, gathering insights, and receiving whispers. As Neptune returns to Pisces, we will continue our transition by slowly weaving together these two very different realities of past and present.
This year, as we witness a new era of Neptune in Aries, we experience an energy that hasn’t been present for more than 160 years. Expect major shifts to take place.
Saturn in Aries
Soon after Neptune moves into Aries, Saturn follows suit. On May 24, 2025, our planet of building, legacy, responsibility, and grounded action also enters Aries. This planet’s archetype is one that desires commitment, devotion, and discipline. As it enters Aries, we experience two vastly different energies coming together in our cosmos, much like a long-distance runner paired with a sprinter. Here we are invited to bring the inspiration, creativity, passion, and desire of Aries into tangible form through long-term commitment and devotion of Saturn.
This transit asks for a greater sense of personal authority, self-responsibility, courage, and resilience and teaches us how to become the master of our our destiny as we bring desire into form. We experience this for a short time before Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces, where it has been situated since 2023. Much like Neptune, Saturn will officially begin its new chapter in Aries in early 2026. This preview is an opportunity to consider how we want to refine and define our personal desires, bring discernment to our inspirations and ideas, and, with whatever remains, build a different life.
Jupiter in Cancer
Our planet of expansion, abundance and perspective, Jupiter begins an almost year-long cycle as it enters Cancer on June 9, 2025. Jupiter invites opportunities, healing, expansion, and advancement in the realm of whatever zodiac sign it currently touches.
Cancer, our water sign of emotion and safety, invites each of us inward so that we may become our own sacred sanctuary. Jupiter in Cancer brings emotional healing. The kind that invites us to travel inward as far as possible, tending to all that that was set in place in our formative years. The patterns from our families, the gifts from our lineages, the emotions, fears, and wisdom from experiences too young to process. It offers us awareness into what our bodies have been holding onto and waiting for our attention, presence, and compassion. And it allows for enhanced safety within ourselves as we learn how to nurture our sensitivities and innermost needs.
This is also a beautiful time for heightened connection and intimacy with our chosen people and a beautiful opportunity for the experience of emotional intelligence, intuition, and inner fulfillment.

Uranus in Gemini
Another dip into an entirely new realm happens when Uranus enters Gemini for the first time in more than 76 years on July 7, 2025. Like Neptune and Saturn before it, Uranus will briefly enter a different sign before retrograding back into the previous sign on November 7, 2025, only to reenter the newer sign in early 2026.
Wherever Uranus moves, it brings with it heightened change, inspiration, innovation, and breakthroughs, both collective and individual. As it moves into the zodiac sign most intimately related to the mind, communication, learning, information, and mental processing, Uranus will inspire completely new ways of thinking and communicating.
This chapter brings a rapid new influx of ideas and finding new ways of creating that have simply not been done before. It inspires intellectual breakthroughs, forward thinking, heightened curiosity, mental adaptability, and the breaking free of outdated thoughtforms, conventional structures, and restrictive narratives.
As we explore the astrology of 2025, it’s a time for each of us to reinvent the narratives we hold of ourselves and the world, liberate ourselves from constricting perspectives, allow for new ideas and different ways of thinking, and find alternate means to learn and communicate. The magic of Uranus in Gemini can be fully experienced through bringing greater intention to grounding, nervous system tending, and embodiment practices. In 2026, Uranus will reenter Gemini where it will remain until 2032.
