Scott Seering, CMO of Lotus Brands, Dies at 70

Date:

Scott W. Seering, chief marketing officer (CMO) of Lotus Brands (Twin Lakes, WI) died on Jan. 23, at age 70. He died suddenly while driving his car.

“It was indeed an honor having Scott as my friend these past 25 years. It is a true loss for all of us. My best to Barb and the girls,” said natural products industry consultant and broker Adam Goodman.

Seering was born in Clintonville, WI in 1955 and worked as a paper boy and at the Buick garage. After attending Clintonville High School, he attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, paying his way through by selling Christmas trees in Chicago, IL.

After college, he worked at Burroughs Office Machine Supplies and Hsu’s Ginseng Enterprises Inc. In 1991, he started his career at Lotus Brands, a manufacturer of natural lifestyle products. He served as chief marketing officer, a position he held until his retirement in 2023.

“Before he started working with us at Lotus Brands in 1991, Scott was already a respected and trusted friend and colleague in the natural products industry. He helped us build our business and create lasting relationships,” said Santosh Krinsky, president of Lotus Brands. “A large number of people were touched by his warmth, his humanity and his caring way of ensuring positive results for everyone. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his sudden passing, and send my deepest condolences to his Barb and his children.”

Seering was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, animals and the outdoors. He was also an experienced driver “who knew how to navigate every major city in the United States.” He was a judge for regional and national car shows, and the proud owner of a 1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk, a 1964 Studebaker Avanti and a Corvette.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters Lindsay and Lauryn; sister Jill Solinsky; niece Bobbi del Plaine; and stepchildren Tim O’Dowd, Tiffany Brent Larsen and Sean O’Dowd. Memorial services will be held on Feb. 3 at Generations Funeral Home & Crematory in Tomahawk, WI.
