It’s Saturday morning. You hit your snooze button more than once before easing your way out of bed and sipping your morning bevvie. As you grab your yoga mat, water bottle, and natural sunscreen, you drop a quick “On my way!” in the group chat with your besties and head out the door. It’s summer. And that means rooftop yoga.
Although the traditional yoga studio setting holds its charms, taking your practice to (literally) new heights at an outdoor location brings something electrifying to the experience.
And who knows? The urban escape might inspire you to engage in a little more socializing than usual after class, fostering community and connection. Whether you’re a local or passing through town, consider the following rooftop yoga classes and then seek out additional options that are local to you.
17 Rooftop Yoga Classes for Your Weekend
1. Morning Flow at the Nautilus Sonesta Hotel in Miami, FL
Imagine blissing out in Savasana as you listen to the nearby sounds of crashing waves and smell sea, sand, and fresh air. That’s the type of experience taking place at the Nautilus Sonesta Hotel in Miami. Advertised as a vinyasa flow suitable for “beginners” and “seasoned practitioners” alike, the class includes 15 percent off food and drinks at the hotel’s Cabana Club after class.
Visit the Nautilus Sonesta Hotel on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 am. June and July.
2. Sundown Salutations at the Line Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The Line Hotel’s D.C. location is beloved for many reasons—the fact that it’s a renovated century-old church, its location in the lively Adam Morgan neighborhood, and now, its sunset yoga classes. The gathering on the Line’s rooftop boasts views of the Washington Monument and a yoga experience designed to “increase flexibility, relax the body, and quiet the mind.” Class is open to all levels, according to The Line.
Visit the Line on Sundays at 7 pm in June.
