After 25 years, Colibris Eyewear is celebrating a graphic relaunch with a fresh and modern brand message. Under the guiding principle of ‘Corporate design for small faces’, the traditional Lübeck eyewear brand is impressively staging its long-standing promise: eyewear specially designed for small faces – with a perfect fit and timeless elegance.

The new corporate design combines the brand’s roots with a future-orientated look. Nordic design and the brand essence ‘Great glasses for small faces’ are clearly at the center of the visual identity. A harmonious color concept consisting of a maritime blue and a warm sand tone reflects the beauty of the northern German landscape and gives the brand a modern yet authentic look.

The design language has also been rethought: the iconic ‘C’, which is derived from the brand name, tells the story of Colibris in a subtle way. Wave patterns echo the Nordic coastal landscape, while feather-like details capture the grace of the eponymous hummingbird – a symbol of lightness and precision.

The established claim ‘Great glasses for small faces’ remains the centerpiece of the brand communication. It is complemented by new messages such as ‘25 years of experience for small faces’ or ‘Designed in Lübeck for small faces’, which emphasize Colibris’ unique specialization and create emotional closeness to the brand.

The new logo lettering also tells a story: clear, filigree shapes merge with striking elements to create a self-confident statement. In contrast, the logo claim is restrained and diverse, both inspired by the diversity of the eyewear models and shapes.

With this new visual identity, Colibris is opening an exciting new chapter – modern, authentic, and with an eye to the future. The combination of Nordic aesthetics, perfect craftsmanship,p and a clear message emphasizes the claim to create incomparable eyewear for narrow faces. Handmade in Germany and Italy, the glasses are characterized by high quality and a timeless, Nordic design.

About Colibris

The idea was born out of personal need. Despite having access to the most popular brands as an optician, Colibris founder Susanne Reckzeh simply couldn’t find a pair of glasses that harmonized with her face. Together with her husband, Wolfgang Reckzeh, a master optician and owner of the Colibri optical store, they eventually put all of their passion and expertise into solving the problem at the highest level – for themselves and everyone else. Today, Elena Reckzeh-Gogoll, the daughter of the Reckzehs, leads the affairs of the northern German eyewear label, which is also coveted and known for its Nordic-clear designs. Colibris – great glasses for small faces.
