Calgary-based healthtech startup OraQ AI has secured $2.6 million in seed funding from dentists and other investors to commercialize its AI-powered clinical decision support software, BetaKit reported Monday.
OraQ, which obtained approvals such as a Medical Device Establishment Licence (MDEL) from Health Canada and clearance from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2023, launched its software earlier this year.
The platform analyzes patients’ medical and dental histories to provide customized treatment recommendations, reportedly increasing patient acceptance rates by 30 to 40 per cent. Patients can view their exam results and treatment plans on their own devices, approve treatments remotely, and receive instant notifications sent to their dental offices.
The announcement follows OraQ AI’s September partnership with Patterson Dental Canada to introduce its software to dental practices nationwide.
