Align Technology Inc. has launched its 2025 Annual Research Award Program, offering up to $300,000 to support clinical and scientific dental research at universities globally. Now in its 15th year, the program provides one-year grants to faculty working on research to advance patient care and knowledge in orthodontics and dentistry.
“Each year, we see a wealth of innovative research from around the globe focused on enhancing the quality of care and advancing clear aligner technology,” said Dr. Mitra Derakhshan, Align’s chief clinical officer. “We’re excited to see the range of topics submitted and look forward to supporting projects that push the boundaries of dental science.”
The awards include four grants of up to US$25,000 for each region: the Americas (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central and South America), EMEA, and APAC. Recent topics have spanned diverse and pioneering areas of dental research, noted John Morton, Align’s vice president of product innovation. “Align is proud to support research that contributes to the global improvement of dental care,” he said.
Faculty at universities offering Invisalign® or iTero™ systems are encouraged to apply by March 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT. Applications will be reviewed by an independent academic committee, and recipients will be announced by June 2, 2025. Full program details and application forms are available on Align’s website.
Since 2010, Align Technology has awarded approximately $3.75 million through its research program.
