What is SENPA and why would we want to part of it?
SENPA is a non-profit organization focused on the independent retailer for the last 60-plus years. This group focuses on how to help the “small guys” remain relevant and competitive.
How do they do that you ask? Well, as a member of SENPA you are instantly part of a group of retailers and manufacturers that are in the same boat you are. They are dealing with some of the same issues that you are or have dealt with and competing against the same big box and online retailers. SENPA has a variety of tools available to help solve some of these issues that you can access when it is convenient for you. SENPA also produces two shows a year where you can bring your team and get a variety of education on topics ranging from products to business practices. Education is truly at the heart of the organization. When you get to the show floor you will discover new brands and products, be able to have productive conversations with the brands and if so inclined be able to write orders allowing your store to be more profitable and on the cutting edge of trends.
SENPA also focuses on advocacy. They track bills as they move through state and national legislatures and send out alerts on things you need to be aware of before it is too late. They communicate with both state and federal authorities about wording in bills and how the bills may affect the independent retailer should they become law.
SENPA has a lot of exciting things planned for 2025 and beyond, now is the time to become a member.
