Mosh (Los Angeles, CA), co-founded by Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger, launched a retail-ready rebrand and new formulation for its brain health protein bars.

Mosh is now the first and only protein bar containing Cognizin, a premium nootropic ingredient that supplies the brain with a patented form of citicoline, from Kyowa Hakko USA (New York, NY), according to the company. The new formulation also includes lion’s mane, ashwagandha, omega-3s, vitamin B12 and vitamin D3.

“Mosh protein bars are the perfect synergy between a branded ingredient like Cognizin that stands out in the brain supplement market for its extensive scientific research, and Maria and Patrick’s dedicated efforts to actively nurture people’s brain health,” said Karen E. Todd, RD, vice president of global brand marketing at Kyowa.

The original Mosh bar was born from a personal journey after Shriver lost her father to Alzheimer’s, the company said. The brand appeared on Shark Tank and will now launch at 400 Sprouts Farmers Market locations nationwide. Every purchase helps fund Alzheimer’s and brain health research.

“Mosh isn’t just a mission-driven company. Mission is built into every fiber of our brand, from our packaging to ingredients to proceeds,” Shriver said. “And because we go the extra mile, Mosh is bound to spark conversations, ignite change and illuminate paths to a brighter, healthier future.”

Schwarzenegger added, “To us, this is so much more than a rebrand. This is a result of us listening to our community and innovating beyond their requests. We took Mosh a stop further. Now, when shoppers see our new ingredients and bright packaging on the retail shelf, caring for their brains will easily be top of mind.”
