HealthLOQ (Scottsdale, AZ) announced a partnership with the Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance (GRMA) in launching the Dietary Supplement Product Integrity Program.
Developed through a consortium of industry stakeholders—such as retailers, brands, manufacturers, testing/inspection/certification (TIC) organizations, accreditation bodies and trade organizations, this program promotes transparency, credibility and scientific integrity within the dietary supplement product category.
This program will empower brands to prove to consumers that a product contains what the label and marketing says and is free from adulterants and contaminants, the company said.
HealthLOQ’s document protection software is the enabling technology for the exchanged of trusted electronic documents within the program. This innovative solution allows retailers to automatically verify the authenticity and integrity of certificates of analysis (COAs), ensuring they are untampered. It also confirms the laboratories have legitimate and authentic qualifying credentials. HealthLOQ effectively eliminates the manipulation and doctoring of product documentation.
According to the company, the document protection software employes cutting-edge technologies, such as zero-knowledge proof, blockchain and cryptography. Documents processed through the system are encrypted to create a unique “digital fingerprint” stored on a secure, immutable blockchain ledger. It is quick and easy and “ensures the privacy and proprietary nature of documents are preserved.”
“We are proud to collaborate with GRMA on this exciting program, reinforcing our commitment to combating counterfeits and adulteration in the industry, while helping consumers to trust the supplements they buy are authentic,” said Derek Lurth, CEO of HealthLOQ. “GRMA’s leadership in bringing together a coalition of leading companies from across the industry to launch the Dietary Supplement Product Integrity Program is an enormous step toward the goal of global harmonization of quality standards for the industry.”
GRMA Executive Director Allyn Shultis added, “We are thrilled about the launch of the new program and our strategic partnership with HealthLOQ, as their key technology addresses a crucial challenge for e-commerce and omni-channel selling platforms. By combining their technology with our program, we can help retailers create a marketplace where consumers can confidently make informed decisions about products based the label.”
